They concentrate on multi-family loans, usually adj rate and if fixed have earned high prepayment penaties. I believe they are a big takeover target and have been approached. Top management denies this but I think I know differently. Was this user's rating of 'DCOM' helpful to you?

Dime Community Bank (DCOM) announced their third 3:2 stock split in the last 2 1/2 years. It is a very succesful bank in the NYC area and pays a 2 1/2% dividend. With GPT being taken over, it remains one of the most likely takeover candidates in the NYC area. It has a very smart management. I am very excited about this bank.
